In 2000, 62 Honduran coffee farmers came together with a shared mission: to transform their farms from conventional to organic. This collaboration formed COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala, S.A.), a cooperative dedicated to sustainable farming and community development.
By 2001, COMSA had achieved organic certification through Bio Latina, and by 2006, they were granted Fair Trade certification. Today, the cooperative uses its Fair Trade premiums to support local schools, fund teacher salaries, and purchase educational supplies — ensuring every cup of COMSA coffee fuels a brighter future.
